Cold sickened marrow
scraps of flesh draping bone
dark hallowed rib cage
no organs
no heart
no vital signs of life
WAKE UP!
...a heart beat...
slight
small beat
still
no heat
no
repeat
find
the beat
the phalanges creak
the feet twitch
flesh takes shape
hair cloaks the scalp
colour begins to flourish
nerves start to twitch
and feet begin to itch
the eyes roll forward
the lips purse
sounds buzzes in the ears
a chill creeps down the spine
I refuse to stay dead anymore
and walk among the unliving
It's time to break free
and live life the way it should be lived out
alive
