As the snow fell down,
As a blanket of quiet abyss,
I touched your hand, ice-cold as it was,
And your warm embrace melted all the ice.
The silence, and realization,
That the town was now nothingness,
A quiet, open field of forever snow, forever cold,
And I and my beautiful Haley were all that survived.
As we crept into the cave,
The ice followed us like a swarm of moths,
But our love was like a sheild of warmth that,
Repelled it away, for a short while, keeping us warm.
As we slept, we drempt of sunshine,
As the clouds had now covered everything,
And the eternal-night did not discourage us,
From dreaming about our youthful, summer days.
As the ice crept onto my skin,
Like a serpant, quiet, unnoticed,
We awake, half-frozen, and simply talk,
Talk about things we should have addmited already.
The ice threatens to encase me,
And you try so hard to melt it off,
But it's creeping slowly onto you, too,
Soon the only two left will be gone like all the rest.
I hold your hand,
You wipe my frozen tears,
Nearly silent whisper, "I love you,"
As the quiet snow quiets Haley and I too.
