I rest my hand upon the wall,
My cracked fingernails dig in,
I feel faint and start to fall,
They're marking a grave to put me in.

My sullen eyes deep in my skull,
With a hint of dark sorrow in my skin,
The light is lost, my black eyes full,
They're shoveling a grave to put me in.

My whisper soft, like baby's breath,
My words are shards of rusted tin,
My lungs collapsing, my imminent death,
Their building a casket to seal me in.

Don't come closer, with those warm words,
Your talk of sunshine and clear skies of gin,
Don't you dare touch me with breath like swords,
They're carving my headstone to seal me in.

Don't bother with needles, they only cause pain,
The poison's so thick beneath my skin,
The medicine gets suffocated again and again,
They've rented a herse to carry me in.

Close the shudders, the sun hurts my eyes,
My soul-less eyes with gray pupils within,
Don't try to swat away all the flies,
Because they've bought a dress to bury me in.

Don't try to cheer me, I know my fate,
Staying with me is simply a sin,
Get your hands off my face of slate,
Because they've finished the graveyard to bury me in.

A whisper "I love you", a kiss on the cheek,
A slur of goodbyes, over and again,
My black-laced body is so frail and weak,
And you shed me a tear as they lower me in.
