WTF Is Your Problem???
I didn't know what to put for a title, so I put that.

There is a girl at my school, my age, with whom I've gotten into a lot of fights. The main reason I dislike her is because:

Misinterpretation of Your Rights
Once upon a time, DramaticPotato had a best friend named Vivian. Vivian has physical birth defects, but lives a perfectly normal life without a few activities. Vivian is the freshman Class President, and a straight A student and friend of almost everyone. One day, a boy named Matt decided to make Vivian feel bad about the way she is (her deformities). He harassed her online for a few weeks before DramaticPotato convinced her that she needed to tell someone. She told a very reliable adult, who brought it to the school district, who eventually brought the case over into the courts. Mat was expelled from the district and is now homeschooled.

Towards the end of this mess, a mean girl named Shiree decided to help her friend Matt. Her PE locker was next to DramaticPotato's, and one day Shiree decided to bring up the topic of Matt.

"I think what Vivian is doing is so stupid," she said to DP. "Why would she tell? I mean, come on, what a baby!"

"Um, excuse me?" DP replied. "What Matt did was wrong, besides the fact that I was one of the people who helped Vivian do the right thing."

"WTF? He was excercising his right to freedom of speech! He was telling her his opinion!"

"Look, Shiree," DP said with meaning, but still calmly, "That wasn't freedom of speech. He harassed her. He constantly let her know how much he believed she didn't belong on earth. He told her to go back to China, for God's sake! That is not freedom of speech and it is not something he is going to get away with."

This ended in much hate and disagreement between DP and Shiree. About a month ago, Shiree picked a fight with DP because of something that didn't even concern her; it was between DP and another girl, and the other girl was a big enough idiot to call Shiree in to fight for her. DP basically won the argument, although her father was not happy about it and called Shiree's father, resulting in an bitter argument in the PE office the next morning and never speaking to each other again.

I do believe that Shiree is one of the only people I've ever hated. I know hate's a strong word, and I don't hate her (literally), but the feelings I have toward her (and one other idiot kid at my school) are THISCLOSE from falling under the "hate" category.

A good friend of mine (my friend Rachel... you may remember her as the LDS friend I used to talk about in my LDS thread in ED: M&R) once told me that she doesn't understand how one person can hate another.

"How can you hate something that God created, whether or not the person loves God?" she once said to me.

Rachel was in my PE class when the "story" happened, so she knew what was going on, but still couldn't understand why Shiree and I "hate" each other.

Comment discussion: What do you think about hate? Is it a legimate or illegimate feeling? How does hate play a role in your religion (or non-religion)?

This whole thing might end up being a discussion either in the ED:M&R, ED, or GD (depending on what I think).

Glad your friend got her justice.
Hate... I'm incapable of hatred.
For example- I was in love with this man, and this man said he loved me back. I was blissfully ignorant of the fact that he was professing his love to another girl, but when I discovered, I wasn't angry at either of them. Any other normal person would hate both of them with a vengeance, but not me. I might be just terminally apathetic. I dunno.
