Okay. Today, Rick brought up the subject of prom. For all you people who don't know me, my parents are way ... weird and won't let me do anything with Rick. I've never gone to his house and just hung out with him (I actually saw the inside for the first time yesterday...). We can't go anywhere alone. He can't come in my room. For Pete's sake... yesterday on our way to my friend's house my dad made my little brother sit between my boyfriend and I. Newsflash, Mom & Dad:
WE'VE BEEN TOGETHER FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS.
They just... I don't know. They don't get it. They're not even allowing me to experiment. There's so much crap... Just garbage. I don't know what it is... It's probably not Rick. My dad is always saying how his girlfriends never came to his house... he always went to theirs. WELL GUESS WHAT? IT'S HARD FOR HIS TO GET OUT HERE BECAUSE HIS DAD'S NEVER HOME, HIS MOM DOESN'T DRIVE, AND HE DOESN'T HAVE HIS LICENSE YET. HOW THE ******** CAN WE SEE EACH OTHER??? It's not like we see each other every day at school, no no. We see each other ONCE A ******** WEEK. Some times less than that because of other s**t. AH. They just don't get it. And then they don't realize that we try to cherish the little time we have together and separate us in the goddamn car. What the ********. I just DON'T GET IT. THIS ISN'T ********! I don't get it.
Anyway... the whole prom thing. It reminded me about how stupid my parents are about that crap. Yeah, I know it's for my own good. But not even being able to go to his house when his whole FAMILY is there? Um, no. I just don't understand. I want to go to prom with him. Yeah, oay, I understand that part of the reason they don't want me to go is because it's Alhambra and it's in the city. Fine. But when I asked if I could go BEFORE telling them where it was they said NO. I just... I don't get it. There's zero logic in this. They aren't even trying to see it from my point of view. They haven't tried, trust me. They're as far outside as they can be while not even looking in and just making decisions from miles away. Take a walk in my shoes, parentals. You'll want to be with the love of your life too.
