Strange, horribly-written stories from the mind of Godii
Death Note: Yuki's Story 2
NOTE: Okay, usually, I wait until Friday to post my stories, but, ya know, I'm bored... again. The second half of the first day of high school... err... yeah. When did I post that first part..? ><" I kinda quit the story, but I hope to get more into it (I just bought the third volume of Death Note after saving up money for... 4 months... maybe). This part is rather short, but it's better than nothing?

Determined to not let Yuki pass me, I grabbed two of my textbooks and brought them to lunch. I ate far away from others, reading and learning more and more. I understood the lessons with little difficulty and I even went ahead of the class. However, my lessons during lunch stopped when two guys came over to talk. They asked many questions and I answered them shortly, my annoyance not seen. When they no longer had any more questions, they got up to throw away their garbage and started to talk about a topic I enjoy. I joined in their conversation, closing my books and walking with them to the garbage bin.

"Ugh, I swear, they're giving us so much work. And it's only the first day!! We're new at this school! Shouldn't we have less work?" One of the guys complained, suddenly switching the topic.

"Yeah. We've already got three textbooks and homework in every class so far," The other guy added. He turned to me. "Hey, Raito! Were you doing your homework during lunch?" I blinked. Since when were we on a first name basis?

"Sort of," I shrugged.

"Man, I should have thought of that. Then I would have less homework..."

"But lunch time is for lunch! Not homework," The first guy said.

"It's a good time to do your homework, though!" His friend argued. We soon reached the classroom and I quickly separated from them, not wanting to hear whether one should do their homework during lunch. I approached my desk and saw Yuki, who was quietly reading a manga book. She flipped the page every few seconds, her eyes quickly darting across the panels. She blinked and looked up at me.

"Uh..." I froze for a millisecond. She gave me a small smile and went back to her book. I let a silent breath out and sat down, picking up my pencil to finish my classwork and get a head start on homework. I glanced at Yuki and wondered why she wasn't doing her homework. Fortunately, a girl bounced over and bothered her. I placed my pencil on my paper but listened closely to their conversation.

"Hi, Yuki!" The girl said. "Whatcha reading?" Yuki held up the book, showing the manga cover. "Wow! I love that series!! It's like, the greatest love comedy in the world! Especially those ecchi scenes." I made a face under my mask of concentration. Ecchi? What were these girls reading?

"Say, did you already finish the classwork?" The girl asked as Yuki lowered the book. Yuki didn't say anything, but I assumed she nodded. "Really? Can I see some of your answers? I don't understand a few questions."

"Sure. If you don't understand anything on the homework, let me know and I'll lend you mine," Yuki said. "Just don't copy it directly, 'kay?"

"Eh?! You already finished the homework, too!? Wow, you're amazing!" The girl exclaimed, causing me to look up.

"I finished it before lunch..." Yuki replied, smiling with slight embarrassment at the compliment. She took a cautious glance at me, as if she had felt my eyes on her. My head was turned to her, almost glaring at her with a death stare. She was already done with all her homework and I still had lots to do! She slightly winced at my look and turned away. She beat me... and it was only the first day of school!
