"Lillian behind you!" he shouted. She turned to see a werewolf midleap headed straight for her. She knew she could not avoid the attack this time. So many thoughts ran through her head. The one that struck her the hardest was she would never get to apologize to Aozu for thinking him an incompetent twit.

Lillian closed her eyes waiting for death; she vaguely hoped it would be painless. She opened her eyes moments later to find the wolf had been tossed aside. A tall young woman with her Deep Maroon hair pulled into a bun supported by two chopsticks stood there with a smirk on her face. Lillian looked into a pair of maroon eyes that held a hint of mischief and arrogance.
"Oy, oy what's a couple of newbies doing out on a mission for experts, ay?"

Lillian glared at the woman she couldn't be any older than herself or Aozu; not to mention the 10 other clan members on this mission. "We are not newbies, well some of us are not..." she said uncomfortably.

"Mierna, we've managed to dispatch the rest of this pack. It looks like a reverse ambush." Several more of the woman's clan members appeared from the shadows carrying the bodies of Lillian's own clan. She stared listlessly at the bodies as they were lined up in a row. She felt a pair of arms pull her into a familiar scent. "Aozu...I.."

"Shh...everything will be okay." he whispered. Mierna turned to look at the two people who had survived the massacre. "Your not going to want to watch this" she said quietly. Aozu nodded and pulled the young woman in his arms around and headed back toward their campsite. Lillian let her self be led with out protest. It seemed indecent to behead her own clan members, but it had to be done so they would not turn. A tear trickled down her cheek she had known some of these people since she could walk and decently remember names.
