For some reason, in grade 10 we had to write a poem describing our community. This is mine (it got read out loud to the class 3nodding )
Unplowed roads, deep tire treads
Cars parked along the sides
Blocking vision already hindered
By overgrown trees living
Idly on corners.
Pretty little houses built
big and small, pink and blue
on quaint little streets known,
not by name, but by relationship
to 115th, Central and Egbert.
A community contained by railroad tracks
With shops, schools, parks…
Even a rink!
A small town encircled by
The big (for Saskatchewan) city.
