Two weeks after Escape:
Opal was high on life. She was free, oh so free! Even after two weeks she still felt as if it had been only an hour. She was paranoid, and scared witless, she was living in an abandoned house across town. Today was the day that she had decided to go to the police. She slid out the back window and walked to the station. As she walked inside she was intercepted by her mother. The witch was in tears. She hugged her daughter. "Oh Opal we were worried sick!" she cried aloud, then whispered, "If you tell them you useless piece of trash I'll kill you." Opal froze as two officers walked over. "It's her," her mother told her. "She's come back!" Opal fought back tears. "We'll have to ask the girl some questions," one said. "Then she can go home." "She'll want her sister there at least," her mother all but insisted. "That's fine ma'am," said the other. Opal's sister steered her into the interrogation room.
