The Flow
By : Aisha M.
I'm sorry I don't let most get close to me
but I don't think society
wants me to be,
not the way that I want
but the way they see me,
it's like a one word judgment
but it's not that easy,
to see
that there is more to me than what's been shown,
but how are you supposed to understand the unknown?
And it seems like every time I open up
people just want to cut///
me out, shut me out,
and tell me things I don't need to hear,
I just want someone to hear, to hear me,
lend an ear.
And sometimes when they do let me talk
they don't comprehend, attend, like their mind has me blocked.
Maybe I'm not normal, nor a success,
but I've got my family, friends, and lots of respect,
for the people who understand the way that I feel,
for all the men, woman, boys and girls trying and keeping it real.
