Happy Birthday

Happy birthday gone down the drain
It's just another eventless day
And everyone is left in the rain
While I sit here upon my throne
And cry the world away

Here I am all dressed up and ready
But here comes the rain to ruin it
The make-up runs down my face
Nothing could have made this day better

Let's go get drunk
Act silly until the night goes
And the sun begins to shine
For the birthday is already in ruins
Why not just get drunk and pretend
It was a great success

That it will be the talk of the town
That no one was crying
That the princess on her throne
Was smiling without a tear in her eye

Happy 18th welcome to adulthood
With all the tears in the world of sorrow
Hope you enjoy your stay
Maybe you'll get your way
