I knew YOU,
not a picture,
or a person,
or even an idea,
i really knew,
what you were,
who you were,
and you made...
you made me feel safe,
like i was untouchable,
you made me smile,
You brought,
a warmth inside me,
you were something to look forward too,
something to get excited about,
something of mine,
to cherish,
but...
but i never was that,
too you,
when you were broken,
i would build you up again,
when you cried,
i would swallow your tears,
when you were afraid,
i would do what i could to protect you,
when you couldn't fly,
i gave you my wings,
i would give you,
every piece of me,
just to see you happy,
to see you smile,
to find you at the end of the day,
there for me,
for me,
of all the people in the world,
and i was content,
just like that,
then,
one day,
you didn't need me,
to hold you up,
to make you strong,
or to comfort you,
you didn't need me,
nor did you ever want me,
i was,
just a something to you,
when i broke,
you didn't pick me up,
when i cried,
you never touched my tears,
when i was afraid,
you left me alone,
and when i couldn't fly,
you stepped on my wings..
and even after that...
even after all that,
i still loved you,
every part of you,
even the one that left me,
the one that never needed me,
i still loved you,
in a broken,
and helpless way i did,
you left me here,
alone,
painted with tears,
and broken words of trust,
all i ever wanted,
ever wanted to hear,
even if a lie,
was so simple to say,so very simple,
yet you never did.
