I am of the firm belief that one's religion does not truly matter- not where it really counts.
I have friends of most every religion except Buddhist or Hindu and Muslim but I do have friends that are Jewish, Pagan, Christian, Atheist, and even a pretty hardcore Christian. If we ever started talking about religion we'd be in big trouble, huh? But we don't talk about religion (probably out of fear of us killing each other), and we're all friends, or at least, have friends in common.
I personally do not believe that it is really anyone's business what religion I belong to, and that it is none of MY business what other people's religion is. If they decide to tell me, that's fine, but if not, I think it rude to ask. After all, what are most people doing when they ask that question but getting ready to judge you?
Some people seem to think that one's personality is contrived from one's religion, but one look at my crazy group of friends, and you can quite clearly see that that isn't true. Just as not all scientists are atheist, not all atheists have no morals, and so and so forth.
