The many rants of a work in progress
Rant: Testing, one, two...STOP.
Okay, so I got a chain letter earlier - and you all know my stance on chain letters. As soon as I get them, I delete them. THIS letter, however, really tug at my nerves. It was talking about how I should "Read only if I had time for God." It went on to say various examples of how I would show my faith in God by sending it to X people, plus the one who sent it to me.

My response is: What? Why should I have to take this "test" in order to show my faith? I don't need to continue a ridiculous chain letter in order to be granted access to Heaven! Granted, the letter did hold truth in it about how we were reducing God to Sunday mornings and the odd Wednesday service. Still...why should I have to send it in order to find favor with God? And the way they quoted scripture to help send it...gah, it makes me mad.

I'm not perfect, and I'm not saying I'm going to start some over-reactive campaign about how stupid this is...but I shouldn't have to allow something to test my faith unless it's something by God, for God, and about God. If I feel it's neccessary in order to please him, then He will let me know.

Sorry for the rant, but this really got to me.

Amen brother! I feel exactly the same way!

Whenever I see those, I always think to myself, "I love God. God knows I love God. Why do I have to send this just to prove that I love God when He knows I love Him already?" I mean, in a sense, I feel bad about deleting it, but somehow, I don't think I'm damned forever if I didn't pass on a chain letter. I bet God doesn't like chain letters either. xD
