ABANDONED CHARACTER!
Amelia Earhart (Home Work Help)

NO PLAJERIZING PLEASE!
I know that I know something about Amelia Earhart.
First, Amelia Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas in 1897. When she was very young, she spent hours playing with her younger sister, Muriel. The girls had fun while climbing trees, riding their sleds downhill, and hunting rats. Seeing an airplane for the first time in her life, she did not find it interesting. In 1920, she became interested in aviation.
Second, in 1931, she married George Palmer Putnam. In 1932, Amelia became the first woman to fly over the Atlantic Ocean. Taking off from Harbor Grace, Newfoundland, and landing near Londonderry, Northern Ireland. On May 20, 1937, Amelia and her navigator took off from Oakland, California, to go flying around the world. On July 2, a U.S. Navy vessel picked up radio messages from Amelia saying she had empty fuel tanks. Not knowing Amelia’s whereabouts, a massive search was made. Amelia had disappeared from sight along with the crew. They made a massive search with no luck.
Third, after Amelia’s death, people started to make up myths about how she died and what really happened to her. Some people said that Amelia was sent to spy on the Japanese and that she was captured by them. Others were saying that the government had secret documents about where she really was. Some thought that she ran out of gas at her last radio transition. While others spread rumors that her navigator was an alcoholic.
Forth, Amelia Earhart is widely known for many reasons. She was not only the first woman to fly over the Atlantic alone; she was the first person to do it twice. During her lifetime, she was a very well known celebrity. She was independent, cool under pressure, courageous, and serious about her goals. Her character traits, along with her mysterious disappearance have given her long lasting fame. Many girls have been inspired by her story which can be found today in hundreds of books. In 1942, a United States liberty ship was named the SS Amelia Earhart. It was wrecked in 1948.In1992, Earhart was inducted in the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. Her legacy even lives on the planet Venus. The IAU named a corona on Venus Earhart in her honor.
