One Gaian's Troubles [Part3]
I picked myself up and groaned. Darn the stupid ufos that keep zooming around. They were so troublesome. Not to mention they created traffic jams too.
I walked away from the shop and paused, trying to remember what I was doing. Oh yeah, I was heading towards Gambino, to the Casino.
I snagged a ferry ticket and boarded the boat. It started to snow lightly. So, I was tossed into a small, floating wooden structure, cold and slightly wet. That's great...just great.
I tried not to shiver as the boat rocked above the waves, and the the snow thickened. Partly because I was afraid we would all drown and die, and partly because most of my hair was wet. I checked my watch. It was eleven thirty am.
"Er...could you hand me that umbrella over there?" A girl next to me asked. I looked at her. She wore black...torn black pants with a black sweater. She had short, straight purple hair. She looked like a human, though her skin was almost as pale as a zombie's. Zombies and the rest of the supernatural dominated about 46% of Gaia. I think about 25% of us are aliens, and the rest are humans. That's just a rough guess, of course.
"Sure." I managed to grope over to my right and slide it to her without falling flat on my face; and she nodded her thanks. Best of all, she shared it with me silently, so that she and I were dry.
"I'm Red." I said, breaking the comfortable silence.
"Call me Nezumi." She replied, smiling. "It's sure cold."
"Yeah." I suddenly remember something. "Ack! I hope my toaster didn't get wet...ah, nope, it's nice and dry in the bag." I clutched it tighter. "Good thing it isn't wet, or it might blow up again."
Nezumi laughed. "It blew up before?"
"Yus. I was making toast and it blew up on me. I just got this new one today." I nodded and grinned.
"I see. Oh, have you heard anyhing new about the Zurg? I'm trying to maintain peace between them and humans...mostly 'cause we all try to create a war." She shuddered.
"I'm part of the IPCD, and we're pretty successful in preventing casualties. Plus, we have some efficient spies, including me. Heh. I'm a medical unit technican there. " I smiled.
"Cool! I wanna join you guys s--wait, we're here!" She abruptly broke off in the middle of the sentence, and gazed about.
I looked around too, but this place was not Gambino. Gambino would have golden lights flashing on and off, blinding my poor eyes. >____<;; It was dark, windy, and cold...in fact, it looked vaguely familar...
