I hate sounding vain by saying this, but I'm REALLY pretty. I just started realizing this a few weeks (or maybe months) ago, and kept trying to boost my self confidence by telling myself that I'm gorgeous, even if I didn't believe it! Soo, here's a piccy that I took last night after I got all dressed up and prettified myself (cause I was bored).
Am I right or am I right? How could I have been going along for 7 or 8 years, convincing myself that I'm not pretty?
Society. It's ******** all about the messages that society sends to us! "You can only be pretty if you're blonde." "You're not pretty unless you weigh 100 pounds and are 5'6" " Blah blah blah blah blah! I have had to talk myself out of caring about Society. There is no such thing as the "perfect body" or "perfect face" or "perfect hair" or "perfect anything"! If there was, we'd all be ******** clones of each other. Which is what Society wants. And until it stops giving us that message, we'll all keep falling over each other, buying some of the stupidest products in the world.
None of my friends are fat. They say they are, but they're not. The word "fat" to me, shall forever henceforth imply "morbidly obese." In that those people ROLL everywhere because they can't stand up and walk. I see nothing wrong with a woman having extra pudge on her body. We're MEANT to have it!! How else are we going to nourish babies? I heard a commercial on the radio once that was for some beauty treatment from the "Beauty Doctor" up in Columbus, which would help to get rid of cellulite. "It's that lumpy, bumpy fat that women get . . . men are lucky, they don't get it much." (DRIECT QUOTE)
I went off at the radio then. WHY THE ******** DO YOU THINK MEN DON'T GET IT? ARE THEY GOING TO SPEND NINE ******** MONTHS GROWING A BABY? No. They aren't. So why would they get cellulite?
I can't explain my thinking about beauty (before). I'd always thought that people like Catharine Zeta Jones and Rachel Weis and Christina Aguilera were gorgeous. Anybody with, I guess, "classical" looks. And the skinny ones. Nobody's over a size eight in Hollywood. xP
So I finally stopped berating myself, and took a long, hard look in the mirror today, and am finally able to admit that I'm beautiful! I'll receive the compliment with "Thank you!"'s or "Aw, you think so? Thanks!"'s instead of, "WTF? I'm not pretty, I'm the 3rd ugly stepsister!"
Thus continues the evolution of a girl named Elppy. xD
