Don't be dismayed by the randomness; be encouraged by it!
Moon Child
Okay here I go again!!! This is the prologue of a book that I tried to start back in the 7th grade. I haven't really touched it since. I revamped the prologue though, since I decided that this country (Charan) would be on the same planet as my other country (Cambria). I've made the entire world, drawn out maps, assigned gods, everything. It's the biggest thing I've ever done. There are so many stories that I have for this planet, but this was the first. The planet's name is Elppaenip (where my screename comes from, LoL). Anyway, prepare ye selves for another wall-o-text!

In the beginning, there was the Great Senoj, the Spirit of All. From him came Elppia, the world; he created her in his own image that she might be beautiful. He rained down on her, and that rain turned into pools, and the pools into lakes, and lakes into oceans. Rivers formed, grass and trees grew. Forests were filled with wildlife. Birds flew in the air, beasts roamed the woods, fish swam in the sea.

He created the day and the night, that the world might have balance between the light and the dark. He made the seasons and the weather, forming clouds in the vastness of the blue sky. He fashioned the sun and the moon, the great sparkling stars, and hung them in their right places. He gave other worlds to the stars, and breathed life into those planets as well. But Elppia was always his favorite. He whirled magic into the air, so that everything swelled with power. From that power came the purest of creatures, the fairies and angels, and unicorns. They loved him, and he loved all that he created because it was good.

The Great Senoj had other things to attend to; he could not spend all of his time with Elppia, for other planets soon needed his attention. He left Elppia with Keras, Lord of the Sky, and Ethan and Elana, Keepers of the Moon and Sun, and trusted that the they would take care of his beautiful planet. Elppia swore to watch over the world, and the Great Senoj named her “Mother of All”, and gave her control over the others, for she was best loved.

Keras became jealous of Elppia’s powers—she could create life, but he could not. Angered, he struck out at her, causing a lightning bolt to split a tree and burn it to the ground. Thus, Ranu and Zain, twin Lesser Gods, were formed; Ranu became the Fire Keeper, Zain controlled lightning, and later, rain. Elppia loved them, and with Keras’ help, begot more Lesser Gods. Togar learned how to control the oceans. Emper became the Keeper of the Underworld, and later King of the Dead. Arianna became the goddess of sexuality. Kiné tended to all the plants and animals, made them grow and thrive. Siri was the messenger for all of them, and her bridge to the others was the rainbow. Asteri guarded over the planet from the Heavens, and later became the goddess of the stars.

Ethan and Elana, oblivious to the new Lesser Gods, explored this new world, for they were the inseparable Divine Twins. They hunted together, and explored every continent, every depth of the ocean, every wooded glade. They found a great stretch of land which held two great Seas, and named it “Charan”, or, “sea-split”. They built a great city, which they called “Cuello”, and Elppia formed the Blest Hills around it—tall, craggy mountains to protect it. It was here that humans were first formed; the four of them—Keras, Elppia, Elana, and Ethan—molded the first man and woman from the clay around Cuello, and filled them with their energy. Keras gave them Air, Elppia, Earth, Ethan, Fire, and Elana, Water. From this combination came new life, formed in their images, so that these beings might be beautiful like Greater Gods and the Great Senoj. More and more people were formed, until people ranged all over the surface of the world.

The Divine Twins grew to become hunters, healers, musicians and guardians—they guarded their country with a fierce loyalty, and protected it from anyone who tried to take over. Their country loved them, and built them temples, and made sacrifices. Ethan and Elana were pleased with their country, and Elppia was pleased with the world.

Centuries passed. Mortals had become selfish, vain, and evil. They refused to worship any of the gods properly. They refused to listen to the Laws of Hospitality, to do good for their fellow neighbors. They left beggars in the street and spent money only on themselves. Izuis, the goddess of war came into existence. Civilizations conquered each other, and a corrupt, cruel empire, known as Awfæ emerged from the soil. Elppia made the ground shake, but the people would not repent. Zain and Keras sent many horrible storms, but they still did not repent. Ethan and Ranu swept the countryside with fire, Elana and Togar made the rivers flood, Arianna sent pestilence that made them sterile. Still, they would not repent.

This empire tried to conquer the peaceful Charan, but Ethan and Elana turned them out, helping their people to fight so viciously that Awfæ lost its taste for battle with them. Elppia created the Great Western River to keep this country safe from the clutches of the sacrilegious people. Keras swore that they would destroy themselves if all kept on, and the people just laughed. The four created Ireg, a mage with untold powers. He tried to convince the people of Awfæ to repent, to turn back and they would be saved. Only a handful listened to him, and the leaders of the country killed him for being a troublemaker. The gods had finally had enough. They destroyed Awfæ, scattering the small amount of faithful to the winds.

Even more centuries passed, and Charan was protected from the swirling growth of other empires and continents. Ethan and Elana took care of their country, and it flourished under their tender hands. Together, they guided the leaders, and Charan entered its first of many Golden Ages.

Until one day, Elana, the Keeper of the Moon, fell in love with the Emperor. Only Ethan knew about her secret ardor, but even he was shocked when she abandoned the Moon to be with the human. Furious, Elppia declared that if Elana did not return, she would be punished, but Elana was too much in love to care about her duties to the Moon. She forced Elppia’s hand, and the Spirit of the World was forced to discipline the goddess of the Moon. Twenty years was all the time she was allowed with the mortal. Twenty years, and then a child would be born. As soon as the child was born, Elana’s human shell would die, and Elana would be forced back to the Moon, and never be able to assume human form again. The child was to be the deliverer, the greatest leader and mage that the country, or even the world, would ever see. The child would complete a destiny writ in the stars by the Great Senoj, which even Elppia did not understand.

That child was me.
