-DyrUtopiasBane (4:18:45 PM): I'm supposed to be writing at least two newspaper articles a night, right? My dad says, "Well. Maybe I should have you write an extra one for me." BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH WORK TO DO ALREADY!
-DyrUtopiasBane (4:19:36 PM): I have Bio Honors homework, Algebra 1, World Geo to do, too.

-DyrUtopiasBane (4:21:18 PM): He obviously forgot how hard being a hormone-raging, over-worked teenager is.
-DyrUtopiasBane (4:22:42 PM): Oh, wait. HE WASN'T OVER-WORKED WHEN HE WAS A TEENAGER! He wasn't expected to do so much as I am! I've always been expected to do the very, very best. And be better than everyone academically.
-DyrUtopiasBane (4:23:51 PM): He doesn't get how HARD that is. And how much of a STRAIN it puts on me! I want some alonetime, too. He comes home and sits his a** down in his computer and PLAYS around for the rest of the night.

-DyrUtopiasBane (4:26:08 PM): See. You're like, one of the only people I can talk to about this. No one else has to go through as much as we do. Except the other Honors students, who seem to think it's FUN being frustrated and stressed.

-DyrUtopiasBane (4:29:50 PM): I might as well START some of my homework. I have to dedicate at least 1 hour to going over ALL of my Bio notes. Then I have to dedicate ANOTHER hour to read. Then. I can do three hours of homework, and be done RIGHT before bedtime.
You read that!?
That's why my father is going to die.
I can't STAND how he is.
THEN!
He goes and suggests teaching my sister how to do her math.
"How 'bout I teach you."
"You're not a teacher. You can't."
"Don't you dare doubt me!"
I honestly want to see HIM go back to school and do it all over again.
To have to turn in all his work on time.
And be expected to do so much in such little time.
And barely get enough time to yourself before you're shoved off to bed, only to have to wake up extremely early the next morning and do it all over again.
Then. Have your weekend screwed up because a car accident and the hospitalization of a family member.
Parents...
They rarely get it.

Mom: You're getting a 42 in Biology?
Me: Yes.
Mom: How are you even getting a 42?
Me: Well, if the teacher would actually TEACH us then LECTURE us the whole freakin' period, I would be AT LEAST making a 60. (Yes, I know 60 isn't any better than 42)
Mom: When I was your age, I didn't get low grade like this.
Me: I'm taking PreAp (Same as Honors) Did they even have PreAp in your time period? They're giving all of this work, so we could get ready for college and so we won't drop out.
Mom: This is a shame. You know there are other asians and relatives in your school, right? Embarressing, They're getting 100's awhile you're getting 42's and 50's. You need to get off that computer.
I love my mom to bits but seriously. I know I'm Asian. I know Asians are smart. I'm sorry I'm not a ******** perfect Asian, but Just because I'm asian, does that mean, I HAVE to be perfect? I mean, true, parents went through school, they KNOW the drama, the homework, the lectures, but I don't think they know how much it has changed, you agree? I would like to see them do my homework and see if they say anything about it. Oh, I'm sure they would say stuff like, "I would take notes." Or, "I would read the whole book overnight" (Note in sarcasim) but they don't understand. I agree to the fact that we're taking school for granit but is it really worth the stress, if /some/ the TEACHers dosn't TEACH? Sorry if I sound like a complaining b***h, but (To me) it's true. Is it just me, or your parents aren't /your/ parents anymore?
