I hate my English teacher.
I shall refer to her by the schoolwide nickname PoPo, derived from her last name.
She bares a striking resemblance to Crescent DragonWagon, by the way. Sort of.
Reasons:
1. She has one of the worst short-term memories a teacher could have.
She has told us a grand total of 6 times that she failed her driver's test the first time 'round.
2. She is under the impression that my given name is Karen.
She appears to be learning I'm not Karen, mostly because I spend every second of my time sucking up to her, but this was a serious problem for a few weeks.
For future reference, Karen is a Danish/Scandinavian form of Catherine. Corinne is a slightly less common name meaning 'Maiden' with Greek and French roots.
3. She talks to us as if we're two.
She gets a high-pitched voice, slows down her speaking, emphasizes words, and then tells us to write a 3.5 essay on Things Fall Apart.
4. She appears to be failing me.
Okay, so I don't participate as much as I could. But I would participate more if I wasn't constantly threatened with a 0. Which she does. A lot.
5. She puts too much emphasis on symbolism.
Ever think that a book is really just a simple story, and the authors are laughing as we find all this 'hidden meaning' that isn't really there? You would if you had to survive 4 hours a week with PoPo.
6. She's leading the club I'm forced to join.
I despise writing a novel. Okay, so I enjoy the creativity and time management required. But I feel it gives the wrong impression. Plus I don't have as much Sims 2 time.
I leave you with a quote from Heathers:
"Tomorrow, I'll be kissing her aerobicized a**, but tonight, let me dream of a world without Heather English, a world where I am free."
