F'rinstance, if someone's selling off their inventory for 1g apiece, it's more than likely they've been hacked. If someone you've never talked to before donates a gazillion gold to you, it's more than likely that it's botted gold.
Now, while you may at first be disinclined to look a gift horse in the mouth, be aware that accepting botted gold or hacked items may endanger your own account.
Exercise caution.
Also, yet again, do not share your Gaia Online password with anyone. Not other Gaians, not Gaia Online moderators, not even your most-trusted BFFL. Just don't do it. Most of you reading this probably already know that, but it bears saying again. And again and again and again, because some people just don't get it.
