Vadrielith ran through the streets of Spargus City, Seem and a group of guards chasing after her on leaper lizards.
"You are under arrest for the murder of four men and two women! It is hopeless to escape on foot!"
Out of the small pack she carried, she pulled a Jetboard that was given to her by a friend. "Then I won'dt go on foot," she replied. She jumped onto the Jetboard and rode off, pulling ahead of the guards.
Vadrielith didn't care where she was going, as long as she escaped with her life-- a low possibility. In her haste to escape, she hit someone in the left arm. She failed to notice the purple lightning that surged through the air.
Fear, pain, anger. The air was thick with it. A girl in her late teens had been cornered. Her clothes hung in rags off of her slender, sinewy form. She blinked. The air around her surged with purple electricity. Her eyes became two dark obsidian pools. Two black horns appeared in her now grey-white hair. Her fingernails grew into great black claws and her canine teeth became fangs. She did an uppercut into the air, sending purple lightning in all directions from her fist, killing six of the people around her; three of the male guards that were chasing her, two bystanding women, and one man. Then she collapsed onto the ground.
Jak recovered from shock after recieving the memory, then changed his arm back to normal.
"Uh, Jak?" Daxter said from the ground (he had been knocked off when Jak was hit by Vadrielith) "Were you going dark just because that chick ran into you?"
"No," he replied. "I was only turning dark where she hit me. Let's follow her." He quickly pulled out his own Jetboard and followed the guards chasing after her.
When he caught up with her, he found her cornered just as she was in the vision. Only this time, there was no fear; only rage-- pure, unrefined rage.
Each of the guards had a Peace Maker in hand and had them pointed at her.
Seem stepped forward. "This is all a game to you, isn't it, Vadrielith?" she asked.
Vadrielith adopted a tone dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, gee, I just love being hunted down and thrown in jail for something that wasn't my fault."
"Wasn't your fault? You killed six people! We have been generous to you. You should have had the death penalty, but we gave you your life."
"Some life! Seven years behind bars-- two in Haven City and five here. Fun. Praxis was the one responsible-- not me!"
Jak broke through the line of guards as things became clear to him. This woman-- this... Vadrielith-- she was like him. He stood resolutely by herside, Daxter glancing nervously at the Peace Makers.
"She's right, Praxis is the one to blame for all this," he said.
Vadrielith touched Jak's hand, sending him an image of a portal opening, and then showing herself pulling Jak and Daxter through with her.
But why was he helping her, anyway? He didn't even know her, and according to the guards, she was wanted for murder. But something told him she could be trusted.
She closed her eyes. When she opened them again, they were a blank white, veinless, pupiless. A silver light, like that of the moon, seemed to flow from her. She dragged her hand through the air and a rift opened next to her. She pulled Jak and Daxter through the portal, along with the Jetboards, and then jumped through herself.
The portal closed just after they disappeared.
