She was a very young queen. Rumored to be the most beautiful in all of Wonderland. Her skin was like polished white ivory and her eyes reflected unfathomable depths. Her lips in contrast to her fine skin were full and as red as freshly fallen rose petals. Her crowning glory, however, was her hair that was so black that it seemed to swallow all light and exude a soft shadow about her.
"Queen of Hearts." She had become queen only a few short weeks ago. She had been born a distant link to nobility, but her appearance echoed throughout Wonderland. Her infamous beauty brought her into favor with the much older king who decided to marry the nineteen year old beauty. Three days after their controversal wedding the king died of a sudden heart attack.
"Queen of Hearts." Rumors flew about the "mysterious" death of the ugly king. However vicious the rumors, men flocked to the silent wonder of their Queen. She rarely spoke but still managed to capture many hearts. More rare than her speech, was her smile. The latter of which was said to make the sun itself jealous of its brilliance.
"Queen of Hearts." Her eccentracies now followed her about. However strange the people viewed her, though, they all tripped over themselves to make her every whim become realized.
He came to her daily. In fact, it once floated on the catepillar's smoke that they were in love. The truest love to ever come from the craze of Wonderland. Every one knew that the king had been jealous of him during his courtship of the lovely queen. She never spoke of him to anyone but the maids whispered of her book. The large crimson book that she wrote in almost daily and kept under lock and key. This book who's key was actually a jewel from the crown that he made for her. The largest blood red heart shaped ruby in the crown. It was terribly eye catching.
Neverless, she was Queen now, and despite Wonderland's many acceptances, they wished to see her stay as she was. Single. Unatouchable.
This unspoken rule amongst the insane that inhabited Wonderland led him to join them. He gave into the nonsense but kept her in his heart. He would have her one day. His appearance roughened but she still saw the same gentle, noble spirit in him. No amount of nonsense could pull away at his true nature.
She was on edge the whole day. Disturbing news had reached her that she knew would undo her. One of her subjects had kidnapped a sane child from another world. Now all of Wonderland clamored to get to this new blood and to know why the Queen had brought her here. In all reality, it was the whim of White to bring the girl and the Queen's misfortune to have him be so close to her in her court. So now the people looked at their Queen with a suspicious eye wondering what could their precious untouchable have with a daughter of the Sane.
