For the last couple days, battles have ben going on and on. Of course, I trained while others watched, so I'd be more than ready. But today was different, Master Gail was gotng on against a man named Joshua. I took a seat in one of the chairs at the areana and waited for the announcer to start. "I bet my money on Joshua for this battle, yea" I heard a man behaind my say, "Yeah? I bet my money on Gail." I heard another say. I turned to see the two men from registration day.
The two men then noticed me. The first one pointed and said, "Yeah, I remember you. Your the little sucker that said Gail would come in second, and made fun of the way we talk." Then the second man told me,"Listen kid, you won't even make it past the second round. Yeah." I ignored both of them and turned around, hoping that it was one of them Gail was fighting.
"Now men! May bring your attention to the areana! Our next battle is about to begin! Gail verses Joshua! Two rivals since each of them started here. Now let the battle begin!" The announcer said catching everyone off gaurd. The arean doors creaked open and out came Master Gail on one end and Joshua on the other. Master Gail swiftly took out his sword and went in fighting position, Joshua too out his sword and went into fighting position. Then the both of them ran towrds each other with fists of might. And when they reached each other Master Gail sliced Joshuas stomach and Joshua cut Master Gail's Right arm open.
Everyone was cheering, but all I could do was stand there in pain. "Master Gail hadn't mentioned anything like this, and there both getting killed" was all I could think. As the battle went on it be came more gruesome. Master Gail was being killed out there with bruises, cuts, scrapes, and wounds of all sorts. I couldn't watch, so I closed my eyes. Then I heard, "Alright this battle is over Gail wins!" Then everyone cheered. I opened my eyes to see Master Gial smiling like nothing happened.
That night I talked to Master Gail afraid to tell him that I was going to quit. I walked into his room seeing all his bandages over his entire body practicly. "Don't quit young one." master Gail said. Without me even saying a word he knew why I was there. "But Master Gail you...you... were getting killed. ANd why didn't you tell me about all the gore?!" I exclaimed. "Because you wouldn't have tried." He replied" If I told you every little thing about here you would have never came, and not to mention if you did there would be no surprises. And you can't quit with your first battle tommarrow." I put my head down. I couldn't do this. "Now where is that famous line, I have so longed to hear?" Master Gail asked. I looked up at his smileing face and said,"I know more than ever I can do this."
The next day I had no idea who I was battleing, but I knew I was ready. It was time to use all of what Master gail taught me. As the door creaked open I stepped out into the areana, not listening to what the announcer was saying. I looked all out into the crowd getting out my sword more confident than ever. I turned to my competeter and dropped my sword in astonishment. I turned to see my competeter, my competeter. I turned to see.....my Father.
