The clock's face shattered across my own, calling out the secrets buried underneath my skin in indecision. But called out and naked, I admitted to my defeat and kindly accepted my wounds. Being able to smile at the pain and turn and change for a minute. It was my own fault, and for this, I had no reason to cry or curse. Your name erased from the face of my own masterpiece of a heart. It ticked this way and stopped short of a stroke of midnight, keeping me asleep and dreaming, though, aware of where your thoughts had run away with the spoon. Well, I'm striking midnight soon... so ******** you. I can smile now... leaving you behind in the late night hours. The clock's face shattered, splintered and kept from the knuckles of my hands now, only across my widened eyes did it find peace and a place to smile for once. Much like me... and my broken hour hand. Done counting times I stayed here, praying for stopped chances, spread out along the minutes and seconds and hours we spent screaming. I turn and kiss the glass, smiling, without remorse at everything I've done. I've made my amends... and with only the clock broken... the price seems worth it. For once, I'll pay the price. Struck and stunned, the midnight line drawn... it's a fair agreement. Shattered... I'll pay the price. Gladly, I'll pay it full and now...
