She's sitting on the pier. News rushing through her body like the cold water on her skin. Shock sets in. She can't breathe. The water swallows her alive. Eating her soul and sending her senses into a mad frenzy. Somehow, she knew. A feeling crept over her the wind and rain pointing to all signs of a tragedy. Her smile so quickly stolen from her. A void where her heart should be. A flash back to reality. Her mind twisting and contorting the truth. Schizophrenia rots her artificially. The only one to break her is herself. She's put up a wall around her and she's feeding on her own flesh because she is trapped in a box and starving for the taste of anything but the numb. And she's forgotten how cold the water is. How dark it becomes. How stormy the world feels. She breaks down. Snapping into explosives that punch holes and break glass. Explosives that don't get anywhere and the fuse is chronic. It never stops. She never knows. Exploding and waiting for the numb to irrupt into an explosive frenzy again. Each time she collapses to the empty floor. She's shoved everything away. Made the water tainted, but the life has fled in fear. She's alone in the murky water, the murky room and she screams. No wonder no one can hear her. Her walls cannot be broken by anyone but herself. She refuses to open the doors for them. She refuses to be touched, but she wants it. So she sits on the pier. Drinks her coffee and watches the rain wash away anything and everything.
