CGI was decent given the era of tech we had in 2007.
classic "no one believes the kid" when they saw the creature eat a family member. the town drunk also saw it once but no one believes him either.
SURPRISE it's real. basically your every day imagined kraken.
to be honest, this movie kind of bored me with all the cliche.
