I have had a nice time with mum so far. She got here yesterday around midday. My cats are hiding as usual, silly things. Lol. We went to the shops so she could get snacks yesterday and then again today to pick up a new phone charger for me since my old one died. And we also went to the Coffee Club cafe. I just had table water because my IBS is so bad these days, it's the only safe thing I can drink. I do miss fruit juice and frappes. Anyway, it was nice to sit down and do the crossword and arrow word puzzles in the new magazines mum got for me at the newsagents. I like That's Life and Take 5, lol.
What else did we do? Hmm...not too much. She got some luggage straps and a tag to put on her suitcase for when she flies to Sydney on Sunday. She's going to see her long time friend to give her the quilt she made for her and spend some quality time for around a week. Tomorrow, we are celebrating my brother's birthday (even though it was last week, she was sick then). So mum is making a roast with lamb, chicken, veggies and some peas with mint sauce. Classic. It will be delicious. Mum makes a superb roast! I haven't quite mastered the art just yet.
We are planning to watch TV together tonight. 7News comes on first, then Better Homes & Gardens and then Escape to the Country. I have also been waiting for a new episode of Paramedics Season 6 to drop on 23rd Sept. I've watched online all the other ones up to current so I might be able to catch it on TV!
I have lined up a bunch of horror movies to watch over the next month. Halloween month and all. There are Halloween decorations, costumes and merch in the shops now. I do love the holiday. I like scary things and candy and dressing up! Lol. I wish I could dress up and go trick or treating. I've never done it before. Do you think adults are allowed?
The weather was suddenly warm at 30C on Wednesday. So we are officially into Spring warmth now and it's hot today as well. Too bad it's gonna rain a lot tomorrow but we'll still have fun. Toowoomba just had it's annual Festival of Flowers and Brisbane's Roma Street Gardens are probably looking fabulous right now with spring blooms. I'd like to go back there before it gets too hot.
The birds outside my window have been super active today so my cats are loving that. We've had piwis and Indian Mynahs visit. The piwi walked along the fence outside with its claws clinking on the metal, casual as you like, with Chi stationed right at the window screen on top of the cat tree staring at it with great intensity. She sometimes does the meh-meh-meh noises but other times she just STARES. Lol. The piwi didn't give two hoots. It walked on past without a care in the world. They know the cats can't get them by now. Ha ha. Mackerel is taking his turn on the top tier of the cat tree and my phone is nearly charged so I'm going to go sit with mum for a while.
We did make a chocolate cake from a packet mix today too. And mum got my toastie maker out and made us gluten free toasted sandwiches with chicken, cheese and kewpie mayo for lunch.I got stomach cramps afterwards because IBS is stupid and annoying. But after a while it did settle down. I'm hoping to keep caught up on the rps next week. And finish the Liquid Life place descriptions at last so we can start that.
Anyway, I'm just getting in the habit of posting in my journal for the platinum. And I still have a dream to make a b/c shop inspired by my favourite one someday. I had a cuddle with Chi this morning and she tolerated it quite nicely. Very cute but strange cat, she is.
