The black stallion had been dubbed Eclipse at birth. There wasnt a fleck of any other color anywhere on his coat. He was black as the shadows. When he was satisfied that the little mare was free of bugs and dirt he pulled away, tossing his head playfully, nickering. She nickered in return softly, pawing the ground before spinning sharply and prancing off, watching him with an eye, flicking her tail.
Eclipse raced after the mare, nipping her cheek. She half-reared, tossing her head and trotted along beside him. Her name was Lilly. She calmed down, making a transistion out of a playful mood to a calm mood and put her head down to the ground to graze upon the thick luscious grass. Eclipse kept watch for predators, letting her eat in peace.
