As I stood in line of the registration I heard voices all around talking about other competitors. "Yeah, I hear that Gail will be competeing again this year." I heard someone say."Oh yeah, he's still going? What he's in his forties now?" The other asked. "Yeah, that's why all my silver is on Francis." The first guy said. Hearing this I got excited and yelled. "Oh yeah, well that Francis guy is going down! Master Gaial will go second, and I shall be first! Yeah!" the two men just laughed along with every other person in the room.
Recovering from the little incident I took out my sword. "Come on, I know we can do this." I said to my sword. "We're invincible!" And I put my sword back. "Next!" I heard the registration man call. That was me, finally. I stepped towards the man. "Name?" he asked. "My name is, Aaron Geren." I answer. "Age?" he asked. "Eighteen" I answered. "O-kay, thank you, good luck. Here's your registration card." He said as he handed it to me. "Thanks" I said and ran off to sit in the bleachers of the areana.
An hour past and everyone was registered and then, the commander came on. "Hello everyone! Welcome to The Great Challenge! Remember not to be to hastey, but fight with your heart not your brain. And please, no MAJOR scenes. And with that, let us fight!" Everyone got up from their seats and jumped, shouted, yelled, and clapped. I sat down quietly thinking of my stradegy improvements.
I knew this was going to be tough, hard, and agonizing, but with a master like Gail, I shouldn't have to worry. As I looked around at the areana and I saw Master Gail sitting across the areana, satying as quiet and patient as I was. He smiled, winked and gave me a thumbs up. I nodded and returned the gester. I knew I could do this, so let the games begin.
To be continued...
