hmmm... where do you live?
i live in the US and college is synonymous with university. Is the difference a number of years? We have technical schools that are 2 years for an associates degree. Then if you go to college/universities you are usually going to receive a bachelors degree. so are colleges wherever you are from like technical schools?

College is generally two to three years. University is four years, then the extra stuff going for degrees and such. Colleges are cenetered more towards application stuff.. [plumbing, technician, etc]
