I just got the news that Dimebag Darrel (former Pantera guitarist) is dead ... and few minutes later I learn that he was playing with Damageplan meaning that Pantera was no more since a while.
This is truly a sad day .... i'm listening to Pantera for more than 8 years now ... i own every CD they released which is something i don't do often. Fear Factory Dino Cazares that leaves the band, Children of Bodom's Alexander
Kuoppala that ALSO leaves the band, Metallica that now sucks without Jason ... and now this ... what's next ? Alexi Laiho getting decapitated and In Flames blowing off in their tour bus ?
Dimebag Darrel along with Slayer's Jeff Hanneman and Children of Bodom's Alexi Laiho were a huge influence for me. Incredible metal guitarist genius ... i would not be the same guy i am today without them.
Dimebag darrel died today ... as a small part of me did ...

I do recall these sweet summer evenning when my older brother invited his pals home and then we all thrash on "Cowboys from Hell" and many other Pantera songs.
