xoxoFredrik was always selfish in that quiet, subtle way, subliminally sharing with everyone around him just how little they mattered in favor of himself. The only exception was his twin sister, Freya, who never failed to remind him of just how good he might be were he not so absorbed in his own life. Knowingly flawed and easy to pick on for his small size, he grew twisted in his self-pity which manifested into a hatred for the world around him. His powers only worsened him. Inexplicably cruel in his adolescence, a trait which developed into a penchant for danger as he grew, this sorry excuse for a healer made his name in fighting, at first as a hobby but later for real pay. Humans were easy targets for his meta powers, but he would fight anyone who had the cash and the nerve. He stumbled onto the dark side in this manner, picking a fight with the sorceress, Cassandra, before he understood what she was capable of. He was promptly put in his place, and the experience was eye-opening. It was not long before he was signing up for the cause himself, seeking power and ultimately, dominance in a world he had felt lesser in for far too long.

xoxoSo, in the words of my friend Steve who uses the same phrase to describe his two-year-old, this guy is "a trip". As far as villains go, I've played a few before, but never the angry, irrational, unstable one. Fredrik is a difficult guy, not just for other characters but for me, too. Years of feeling like less of a person because his sister was so good and he was not made him a spiteful kind of kid. His parents shaped a lot of that, whether they meant to or not. Deep down, he's just really unsure of himself since she can heal others and he can only take care of himself, but it manifests as this self-loathing mentality that eventually freezes everyone out and even goes so far as to make him bitter toward them. He's the raw nerve, and that hides a lot of complexity to the character. Having to balance the rage and the complexity is going to be my main challenge with him, but I can't say I don't love the guy, too.
xoxoCovered in tattoos, smoking for fun, fighting for money, he's not your typical healer. He'd just as soon insult you as shake your hand and he doesn't lie about how he feels. He hates silence, loves causing trouble, and looks forward to the day when he's got so much power that no one will challenge him.
xoxoMaybe then he'll be able to sleep right.
