xoxoWriting for Brand is very often a job of picking him up from one spot and plopping him down in another with transitions I'm not always sure of. Because he's a very disjointed person - with the death, the living, and all the scattered memories in between - he sometimes ends up being written in a way that is difficult to make sense of, at least for me.
xoxoHe grapples a lot with his awareness, occasionally very comfortable with the concept of being dead but constantly in terror of the truths of his war crimes, which are many. Basil is a big reminder here, and his deep feelings for Vanessa make him painfully aware of just what kind of monster he is, as well. He also has so many questions about what he has missed and it never seems like the time to ask -- too many other things happening. He has a poor understanding of how the world works in times of war, as the fighting between Camelot died away shortly after he was named king.
xoxoI suppose this is as much complaint as it is anything else. I am often confused by my dear boy, just because we both don't know his entire self yet. It's a learning process for me, which makes it a learning process for him. I try play him as reactionary at this point, figuring out what makes him do what things. Of course, this is amidst needless angst, and...
