Why? Why is it that every time i find something in my life that makes me happy, yet involves me moving away or moving out, that my grandfather always does everything in his power to make me stay? I'm finally happy... and I want to be with my boyfriend more than anything. I'm making plans to move in the next few weeks and to get a job there. My dad wants me to wait till I get married (which may be more than a year!) to move but what he doesnt understand is that I want to live my own life before I try to live a life with someone else. He's so stuck in the past and how things are "supposed" to be. He doesnt understand the way things work now. I'm tempted to just dump my return ticket and stay up there and never come back except to get my things. I could use the money I'd spend on plane tickets each month for a year to buy a house. I'm getting out of here, and i'm getting out of here soon.... maybe sooner than he would like.

	He looks at you, Harley, and he sees his little girl, he might not see that his little girl has grown up. Most likely, he's afraid of losing you. What he doesn't realize is that if he does try to hold you back, he will lose you. Have you tried talking to him, explaining what's going on? I know it's hard to talk to parents (I always seem to end up crying when I try to talk to mine about certain subjects) but you need to make him see how you feel, and to explain the situation from your point of view.

	Than leave, but let him know that if he wants to communicate he will have to be the one to initiate it, and that you won't be back until he can recognize that you are an adult and need to live on your own.
