- ‣ In his teenage years, as he neared his twenties, Arthur was in combat with the famed Sable Knight, who defeated the king in single combat by way of the sword. The final attack was a slash so brutal that it cut through shield, helmet, and flesh, cutting all the way down to bone. In time he recovered, but his skin is marred by way of level and coloration. The scar sank the skin in ever so slightly and the afflicted area is a dark pink color.
‣ Brand's hands are wrapped in tattered bandages. The night before his final battle, Arthur seriously burned his own hands while struggling to pull something very important from a small fire in panic. Blinded by emotion in the moment, he suffered the consequences of his foolishness the next day in battle, when he could hardly hold Excalibur, let alone defend himself. The bandages still cling to the dead man's flesh four years after the fact, and it can be assumed that there would have been much scarring had his skin been able to repair itself.
‣ On the day of his death, Arthur was struck by the blunt end of a sword, knocking him back and inevitably leaving the opening his opponent needed. Sometimes the area still leaks dark fluid.
‣ Arthur's final wound, the mark of Brand's birth, is a hole in his chest where a sword drove through an opening in his armor and pierced his heart. The skin has blackened and begun to decay, but is hidden beneath the armor he still wears now.
