This is an essay I had to write for my English class. This is the rough draft, and when I write rough drafts I just kind of write down my thoughts, so if it doesn't make sense punctuation wise or grammar wise, then I apologize xD Also, I had to write about the best moments I've had or something like that.. Okay, so here goes!
We all have those moments in life we cannot forget. You know, those moments with your friends and/or family that when you reminisce about it, you can't help but to smile. Before you star thinking about your own, I'd like it if you would read about some of mine. I have a lot of memories worthy of writing about, but hee are some that just make you smile as much as I do.
" Leave it be"My best friend told me as I got up. "Just watch" she added and I sat back down next to her. We were sitting on the steps of an old shed on the outskirts of an old church in the middle of a hot Summer's day. We sat in extreme heat as we watched patiently. The shed overlooked a deep ditch that separated us from a thick forest. As sweat dripped from our brows, the wind picked up, and it had began. I watched with keen eyes as the wind carried it inch by inch toward the ditch. And then It was gone. It had happened. As I contemplated what this meant, it didn't take me long to understand what had happened, and suddenly, at that moment, I felt closer to Mother Nature and Gaia herself. We were watching a plastic bag, and the wind picking up on a windless day and carrying human garbage into a ditch only meant one thing to me, and one thing only: Mother nature was cleansing herself. It would've happened whether we were there or not, and it is was somehow beautiful in its own way. Silence reined as there was nothing else to say, and with that we too silently took our leave, just as the plastic bag had.
Another good memory worthy of your eyes my dear read, would be on of which I was a small child. Growing up with my little sister was truly a trip. We had so many laughs and good memories together! One of which being when we watched the show bewitched together everyday when I was 7 years old. If you haven't seen the show then here is what is it about: It was about a young witch in her early 20's trying to find herself as she lives with her mother, who is also a witch, and her talking midnight black cat. The theme song was what my sister and I enjoyed the most. Why? Because at the end of the them song the main character ( The on in her early twenties.) would look into a mirror and snap her fingers, and each time she did she would be magically dressed in some crazy out of the norm costume. The reason we always looked forward to seeing that was because one day my sister made a joke of "What is she was dressed up like a peanut?" And me being 7 at the time I lost it, it was comedy gold. I love my sister, and I miss those moments ever now, and even though we yell at each other a lot I still love her, and I know we will grow up and get past this one day smile .
One more memory for you guys for old times sake. Okay, here goes. One annual even in my life is always interesting in all of its dysfunction and glory! That's right folks, a family gathering I'd like to call Thanksgiving. There is always so many laugh, yelling, and screaming every single time but at the end of the dy we stop going at each others throats for about two seconds to eat a feast and catch up on things. I remember one time when I was eight years old I saw my Grandma tying the turkey legs together, and so I said to my aunt " The legs are tied up because it is moist inside" very creepy and wide eyed like. My latest memories are the ones of which I had to say grace. I've only had to say grace about two to three times in a row each year thanks to the leader of my extremely small Irish clan: My Grandpa. And while it is not my thing to say grace, I say it anyways out of respect to the elders of my family, and out of memory who past away 3 years ago. My family was, and still is devastated about it. We all really do miss her, and we all had to learn a very hard life lesson: Life goes on. We miss you Janine, much love!
It is obvious that when we go through life we will encounter people and places that will put a smile across our faces, and make life just a little more bearable, or maybe just a little more brighter. However you look at it, these people make you happy through out this perhaps cruel game we all call life, and that alone my friend is beautiful in its own right. My advice to you? Try to spread as much love and happiness as possible, and you will be rewarded with a grand life.
