Sometimes I think of how stupid jealousy, or envy, can be. It's a terrible feeling, especially when you wish the best for the ones you care about. As much as you want to be happy for them...there's always that little dark spot in your soul that wants to be the one to bring them their happiness, a selfishness. And if you keep thinking about it, then it grows and grows until you realize you're not happy for your friend's happiness being that you were not the one who caused it.
Continuing on that, the darker thoughts show up. You're not yourself by that time, or maybe you're being immersed it a part that has existed but not at the forefront. The jealousy brings up the sadness, and envy, and maybe even anger towards someone that was merely happy and wanted to share it with you. Instead, you sit sourly and poke moodily at your mind. Being human is terrible sometimes. D=
