Personality: Dealing with the dead on a daily basis, Nero is quite the cynic with an acquired sense of humor. He poses like a dark Victorian but he acts like an urchin, such is an aspect of some in the Gothic community. Deep down, he is to the point, especially in the aspects of business.
Bio: Nero was born in Granidea with prospects to enter into the Magic Academy, raised by a nurturing and overprotective mother. You'd think that Nero's mother would follow him to the Academy the first day he joined at the age of 6 by the way she always withheld him from doing anything fun. . .and that's not quite far off either, considering how his mother was also a member of the Magic Academy. In fact, Nero was conceived and born in the walls of the Academy. Who the father was, she would never say, but Nero would hold the burden of his mother's past.
He would be judged in ill faith by other students, forever being known as the b*****d child conceived in the halls of the Academy, being considered unworthy of learning magic among them. It forced his will to grow melancholy, stronger, or otherwise cynical and hateful of the other students. To reflect that, he began to dress darker and act as such in every aspect in order to repel the others away from him, and it worked. Of course this change took span over several years of bullying and torture from his fellow students. By the age of 17 No one would dare confront him, his new found darkness and obsession with the dead allowed him to practice his magics in peace while the others would only bear to speak of him behind his back.
Obviously, his mother would not tolerate his change, and hoped to ward of what she considered a "phase he was going through" through confinement. . .fortunately for Nero, this only fueled his dark aspects. More time alone meant more time to study magic, when she realized her actions were having the opposite effect she had hoped for, it was too late. He disappeared, left Granidea to seek more power and profit on his own in Anlin.
Drastic times call for drastic measures and as the dire doldrums of the poor worked itself on Nero's life, a new type of business opportunity presents itself to Nero. When all is lost, sometimes the only way for a civilization to forge ahead, is to act uncivilized. Experiments must be executed, dissections must be conducted, answers must be found, but most of all, test subjects must be procured. His work is ghastly and dangerous indeed, but if you toss your conscious into the wind there are untold riches to be made from the recent deceased; Grave Robbing
With the power of his magic, Nero made a lucrative business in digging up the recent deceased, making off with whatever jewelry they were wearing and whatever body parts he could salvage in tact. Magic healing did its part to make sure people could survive most mortal wounds, but when organs fail, it is a near miracle to repair, thus his business was justified. . . for the right price on the Black Market.
His grave robbing sparked the interest of the Magic Underground. His actions were definitely atrocious, but necessary for the life expectancy of the common citizen. Obviously, the Magic Academy would never allow his profession to go unpunished, but in the Underground, it was viewed as a mutually beneficial act for everyone. For once, Nero was accepted instead of shunned for the path he was forced to take, and was able to embrace himself fully.
