This is a quick poem from various points of view about the effects celebrity image and modern popular artists can have on their audience. It's metaphorical, and not very lighthearted. the first 2 stanzas, are from the view of a celebrity out for self gain. The third, is from me, and the last from this same celebrity again. *Looks at Justin Bieber
Hiding the feelings for too long
wearing the mask, to silence the wrong
Our lies were fast drifting, too fast for control
soon supressing true reason, allowing our goal
Sitting and watching, they couldn't ignore
we say the right words, ones which they adore
our smiles and waves had soon touched their hearts
With visions of greed we rise
A fortune in hand, and glint in the eye
many still plotting, cunning, sly
they drag out your soul like the drain in your sink
yet watch them with joy, soon learn what they think.
From billboard to poster I shan't let you leave
the words on your tongue, my message you breath
I'm out there to trick them, and shock and deceive
and when duty be done, no trace I will leave.
So yeah, a bit.....Angsty.
