We made nylon in chemistry today. I was looking forwards to it, I eventied my hair up in advance when I got ready in the morning c;

We used the highly corrosive diaminohexane and the fuming sebacoyl chloride to make it. We had to take very special care with the reactants because they were dangerous.
It was really good, you could see the layer of nylon forming between the two liquids. You had to get a pair of tweezers to pinch it off and wrap it onto a glass rod spool then, as you turned the spool, more nylon formed and you ended up with a really long string wrapped around the rod.

We had to wash the nylon for 10 minutes to get the corrowsive diaminohexane off it, even then we gave it back to mrs anderson so that she could inspect them for bubbles filled with the reactants.

But....ellie smuggled out some illegal nylon, she found it in the sink. I've got a bit in my pocket now C:
