This morning I woke up to the sounds of a chain saw, hard at work. I rolled over, pulled the pillow over my head, and tried to ignore it. No dice.
WIIIIIIIIINGGGGGgggggwingwingWIIIINNNNNNNGGGGG!
It went on long enough that i got up and wandered outside all bleary eyed to see if I could tell which direction it was coming from. I stepped out onto our deck and saw this:

There was a dude in my yard and another in the cherry picker who was steadily cutting the branches off the tree in our neighbors yard. In no time flat it was down to this:

and they smooshed our impations:

The guys cutting it down asked us if we had been having any problems with our power or anything - we said "nope, not really"... The tree had grown around a few wires and that was apparently the reason it was being taken down.


*sigh*
So in a day we went from this:

I'm going to miss that tree. sad
