So a while back one of our smoke detectors died. For no reason at all it would just randomly beep. The battery was fine so we figured the unit needs to be replaced. I went to talk to the manager about it. She said she would fill out the work order and get right on it. A week later they finally replaced it. I don't see why it should take a week to replace a smoke detector. My guess is that issues are taken care of in the order that the problems are reported rather than by urgency.

Still I'm more pleased with her than with the old manager. Our water heater broke and it took a week to get it fixed. That's a whole week of super cold showers in the winter time. With the old manager you had to fill out a form then wait. We filled out a form right away. A few days later no response so we caught up with the manager and asked her to fix it. She said she would get right on it. Nothing happened. The next day she said she had forgotten but would take care of it. Once again she "forgot". Finally we flat out demanded she do something about it and she finally sent the maintenance man to fix it.

I haven't interacted with the new manager much but I like her better. Rather than having to fill out a form I just had to knock on her door and tell her the problem and apartment number. Also when I knocked she answered right away. The old manager wasn't so jolly on the spot. Her office hours were about 6 hours a day and most of the time she was "leaving town to take care of some personal business" or she was taking a day off. She was away more than she was there.
