Advanced warning - The following entry talks about a topic [which is used as an example] which some might find upsetting.
Good evening non existant audiance, Commander 5AM back again with another peeve. This time, I am going into the subject of smart asses. <span id="test31506535">. . .</span><br/><div id="post31506535" style="display:none; margin-right:75px;">
Whilst I've been on gaia, I myself have made some pretty smart a** comments on things, for example someone put up about how kids TV shows are getting more and more crap and I decided to speak out about it being because parents are wrapping their kids up in bubblewrap these days. [Honestly, I was raised on Dragonball Z, Beyblade, Digimon and Medabots... and Cubix >.> <.<] That, and 4kids entertainment ripping japaneese shows to s**t and removing all the good bits because they are 'too violent for the younger generation' or they 'show sexual intentions and/or pornographic imagry'. Since when has a shirtless anime guy been pornographic? Seriously they should watch the Teletubbies sometime, I think the way they bang their asses together because that might count in their list of 'things that we think are pornographic but are actually everyday life things, such as guys six packs and girls discussing bra sizes in a show'.
But one thing that annoys me about the ones that have to be smart as the ones that have to so it so smugly, no matter what you do they always have a reply for it, be it another smug comment or a completely egoistic comeback.
For example, someone will put in the General discussion forum a topic about... let's say 911 for this seeing as I have quite a bit of knowledge into it [don't ask, it's a hobby and something I wanna solve so my relative can rest in peace.]. We'll just say for this that their topic is below.

Now, at first glance this looks like a simple thing that someone wants to discuss. Sure, you'll get trolls, flamers and other stuff for posting such a thing, but you'll also attract people who will agree and disagree with the topic.
You'll also attract at least 1 obnoxous b*****d who has to point out every flaw and write a comment so long hardly anyone will read it, most of them will just quote it and write 'tl;dr' [which I have been informed means 'Too long, didn't read] or that annoying 'talk to the hand' emotion. An example of one of these comments will be shown now.

I mean seriously, do you REALLY believe that the 'plane' that crashed into the Pentagon suddenly vapourised into nothing? Where are the marks where the wings and the engines went in? Why is it that the only 'proof' that it actually hit the place some lamp posts that look like they've just popped out of the ground and a small hole in the side, along with another on the other side, which would've been impossible for a plane to do due to the thick concrete in the middle that was completely untouched? If you believe everything they say then you're an idiot, you really are. It's all balls because...[etc etc etc]
It's those people I hate. Sure, if I saw a 911 topic saying that I'd react, but I think I'd just paste a link to a certian Youtube video I know which explains in black and white what was really going on. Until I find more information which contradicts that vid with suitable evidence and images, I'm sticking with it.
Honestly, why do people find the need to have to show off their intelligance on gaia? Gaia is a social networking site made for teens to talk freely and socialise with others via pixalated avatars, not somewhere you have to force your views on people. Some are as bad a jahova witnesses and think it's like their destiny to convert you to their ways, like this one person who was trying to force me to see that my views on satanism and christianity are wrong and that I should love the 'Lord Jesus Christ' and respect 'God'.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this I know. But, we do not need to have pages and pages of evidence backing up the idea. Just post your opinion [if it has to be long, paragraphs! There's nothing worse then a big wall of text!] and move on. If someone quotes you, then you can reply, perhaps start giving evidence then and there to prove your point.
Just remember, not everyone likes a smartass. By all means express your opinion I have nothing to say to that, just don't try to act like you're the big guy in the sky and expect everyone to agree with your point of view. Every situation is a marmite situation; there will always be some that like it and some that hate it.
I... actually dunno what I was ranting about here, meh -shrugs- I guess someones post just ticked me off like normal. Ah well, I've written this now it would be a waste to delete it.
Just a warning though, I wrote this in Notepad so expect grammar errors. Just in case anyone wants to be smart and point out that I'm a grammar nazi, yet here I am making a ton of mistakes.
