Appearance: James is a physically attractive man in his late-twenties of Oriental descent. Tall, well-muscled, he maintains much of the boyish charm he has always had, tempered greatly by another sort of rugged handsomeness gained by age and experience.

Equipment:

Right Arm of the Slayer: This is not so much equipment as it is part of him. James's right arm was badly injured in a battle with a dragon, defending a sacred Temple of Falis in Barton. Mutilated almost beyond recognition, and studded with pieces of the ancient gauntlet he once wore over that arm, it is a testament to the healing powers of the priests and priestesses of Falis, and a white mage named Seyumi Kaikou to have salvaged the arm so. James retains the same basic functionality with the arm that he had before it got injured, however, the inner flow of ki through the arm has been permanently disrupted, with massive consequences to his life and battle style. The Right Arm of the Slayer, as James calls it, is physically tougher then his left arm, and is less susceptible to pain, and is also slightly stronger. A normal distinguishing feature are the white, purified bandages that James has wound tightly around the arm to help control and keep the unstable ki in that part of his body in check, as well as stave off the frequent pain there.

Reinforced, Imbued Combat Gloves: Armored and designed to guard the hand and wrist against injury from bladed weapons. They are fingerless to a degree, to better facilitate use of James's ki through his fists, and can withstand extreme pressures and temperatures. They are comfortable, and adequate defensive measures against both weapons and magics. He can catch or block blades with his hands without fear for the most part.

Imbued, Master-Crafted Combat Knife: A large, black, and intimidating knife. 12 7/8" inches in length overall with a 6 7/8 recurved modified spear point blade, the weapon bears two hooks on its hilt guard for catching and disarming other weapons and the handle also contains a small ridge for use as a hammer. Both edges are half-serrated, and this weapon is enchanted to be highly resistant to high temperatures, and is capable of conducting James's ki. The blade is coated with a non-reflective material, allowing it to be used stealthily in low-light scenarios.

Telescopic Composite Spear: The Composite Spear James possesses is a specially crafted, double-sided and retractable polearm weapon. Around 18 inches long with fully retracted, the Composite Spear reaches over five feet when fully extended via a button, and is tipped on both sides by a one-inch long titanium spike, Portions of the spear's composite ceramic and metal "shaft" is grooved for better grip and aerodynamics, allowing the spear to be thrown with a fair amount of accuracy. Like all of James's weapons, it has been imbued to resist extreme heat, and is quite sturdy.

Custom Combat Jacket: James's normal jackets are enchanted to be extremely heat resistant, and are composed out of a tough, leather-like material. Underneath the jacket however, is a layering of Kevlar and titanium carbide fibers, and ceramic discs woven into the lining. This grants James a superb amount of protection against shrapnel, reasonable protection against blunt force trauma and slicing and cutting attacks, but relatively poor protection against piercing and stabbing attacks.

Steel-Toed Boots: Simple, reinforced boots that have been enchanted and crafted with the specific materials in mind to resist extreme heat. The soles are grooved with metal, allowing James to catch blades under his feet.

Heat-Resistant Sunglasses: Because its cool. These also provide adequate protection for the eyes against most minor threats. These can be charged and used like a Dragon Surge technique.

Special Equipment: James does not always have the equipment listed here. Most of these are his higher end weapons, and defensive equipment, and are therefore more powerful, usually used more in plot situations.

Harlequin's Mask

A strange-looking jester's mask. Although the mask only covers half the wielder's face, any onlooker is strangely unable to discern the real face of the person wearing the Harlequin's Mask. Accounts of the person's description always seem to vary. The mask itself is extremely tough, made out of some sort of metal, and only the wielder can willingly remove it, with a single word of power. The mask seems to project some sort of optical illusion or hologram that can disguise the wearer's face, and reacts to the wielder's thoughts at will.

Chimera Lens

One of his most recent acquisitions, the Chimera Lens is a blood-red set of goggles. Similar to eye-wear worn by most modern soldiers, the Chimera Lens is very durable and provides adequate protection for the eyes against minor threats, and displays a variety of tactical data, and provides additional protection against intense light, as well as night-vision and thermal imaging capabilities. This particular model has been crafted to resist extremely high temperatures, allowing James to wear them while actively using his flames.

Jian, White Reflection

A jian, is a double-edged Chinese straight sword. In Chinese folklore, it is known as "The Gentleman of all Weapons" and is considered one of the four major weapons, along with the Gun (staff), Qiang (spear), and the Dao (sabre).

James's jian is named White Reflection, for its elegant, and timeless craftsmanship. Despite its original purpose as a weapon for combat, White Reflection has not seen much battle at all, originally created toward the end of a nameless war. James acquired the weapon from the Ayora family after his girlfriend Akimee Ayora was killed, and it was this weapon that he had finally killed her murderers with. The sword remains with him today, as a valuable weapon and a constant, painful reminder of the girl he loved.

With a blade length of just over 30 inches, White Reflection is a one-handed weapon, remarkably light and perfectly balanced. The weapon itself was lightly enchanted to resist wear and tear, and at the end of the seven inch hilt hangs a long blue tassel. The weapon is odd compared to most jian in that it features a hexagonal cross-section instead of a diamond one, and lacks a hand guard, suggesting antique construction, as well as the fact that the tapering of the blade is subtle until the very tip.

It is said that if the wielder of White Reflection gazes into the sword for a while, they can see a flicker of their heart's desire. Other then a certain degree of resonance with the supernatural, allowing the blade to be enchanted or empowered at will, no other powers are attributed to White Reflection. The phrase "You are the mirror", and the word "Reflect" are carved into the sides of the blade, in Chinese characters.


Nodachi, Amaterasu:

An ōdachi, meaning "great big sword", was a type of long Japanese sword. The term nodachi, or "field sword", which refers to a different type of sword, is often mistakenly used in place of ōdachi. Although the two types of swords are often similar, odachi are generally more ceremonial, while nodachi are made mainly for battle.

The nodachi that James wields, is named Amaterasu, after the Japanese Goddess of the Sun. The weapon was originally a zweihander named Hellfire, container of the dark Etifini fire God named Halcyanos. After the deity was defeated by James, he took the weapon back to his clan and had it reforged as a magnificent nodachi.

At an overall length of 66 inches with a 49 inch blade, 17 inch hilt, the nodachi is a massive weapon, almost as long as James is tall, and the gentle 3 and a half inch curve on the blade enhances the cutting power of the blade, while still keeping stabs and thrusts viable. The blade itself sports an intricate lotus pattern, creating an beautiful, but deadly weapon, crafted for war in mind. The round tsuka, or hand guard, and the handle, while slightly decorated, are otherwise basic and meant for intensive use in battle.

The actual strength of the blade however, lies in its artifact origins. Reforged from the former weapon of a Fire God, the nodachi is naturally aligned toward fire entities, even with the original owner dead. To top it off, the artisans of the Eredas clan master-crafted the weapon in the heat of the clan's own sacred flames, further purifying and imbuing the sword with the ability to channel the Eredas's supernatural energy.

The nodachi is sharp and highly resistant to damage of any kind. The very nature of the sword itself allows James to cut through magic and other sorts of supernatural attacks with relative ease, while also allowing him to channel his formidable sacred fire through the blade to enhance power and reinforce the weapon itself. Handling is superb, and balanced specifically for James. He often wields it without a scabbard, using consecrated white wrapping cloth to sheathe the blade when not in use.

Daemonslayer's Tome:

James usually carries around a journal on his person. This journal contains records, secrets, truths, falsehoods, fables, and thoughts on a wide variety of things, ranging from the mundane, James's life, to the extraordinary, the powers and weaknesses of powerful monsters, and everything in between, like recorded rumors of artifacts, the true names of more powerful daemons, and such. In addition, the Tome also holds a wide of variety of powerful and arcane spells that spells that a champion can invoke, usually only once each. The Daemonslayer's Tome is intended for the Library his clan keeps, as a recording of the life of an Eredas Champion, as well as material to draw upon when studying monstrous foes to better prepare generations of future Eredas clan warriors and Champions. Should the Tome fall into the wrong hands, the knowledge within can bring great devastation and ruin.

Daemonbane Armor Set:

Despite the name, the pieces of armor in this set are not actually supernaturally effective against daemons. Daemonbane is simply a masterfully-forged set of light greaves, vambraces, chainmail vest, an armored skirt, and a metal shoulder pad. They incorporate both modern and ancient armoring practices; interwoven titanium fibers, overlapping dragon-skin scales, metal studs, enchanted silk lining, and a tough leather base for an emphasis on a combination of mobility, lightness, and protection. The pieces of armor can be worn separately if needed, and are all enchanted to be particularly resilient against heat and supernatural assaults. The set itself is very beautifully designed, as ornate as it is functional, and is James's usual choice of armor to take into battle against the most powerful of threats. As the daemonslayer vanquishes his enemies, the armor is continually improved, and decorated with trophies.

Custom and Enchanted Military .45 ACP Colt 1911A1:

Using the frame of an old Colt 1911, combined with magic crystals obtained in a dungeon raid and leftover shards from the reforging of the zweihander Hellfire, this magnificent pistol was created by Rhoslyn Vernal. Rugged, and dependable, the weapon is specially designed for use by James, shielding the bullets within from James's fiery powers and ensuring it can be wielded with little detriment to performance under any circumstances.

On top of that, the magical materials used to enhance the weapon are already attuned to James's powerful spiritual flames. This grants the pistol the ability to imbue every bullet with some of his sacred fire, allowing the projectile to penetrate slightly further into a given target, however, the main damage comes from within moments of entering, as the imbued bullet loses stability and bursts spectacularly, causing both molten and normal shards of the bullet to scythe throughout the struck area, causing tremendous damage. As long as he has power, he can fire these shots instantly on will, although each bullet takes a small amount of energy away from him. This is his solution to his long time dilemma of ranged fire support, since using the gun to fire a charged round is much more energy conserving then to power up a spark for similar distance efficiency. All of the imbued munitions have the capability of penetrating magical shielding to a certain degree. Despite the power of the .45 ACP round combined with the searing effect of James's fires, the pistol round is still, just a pistol round, and performance noticeably suffers against very heavily armored or very large targets. Charging bullets in this manner also gives them a "tracer" effect, which gives away James's position when firing.

Type OX Compact Magic Converter MKVI, aka Mana Bomb:

Ordinary people, even with the advancement of technology, have always traditionally been at odds with those of magical capability, and have usually been dominated by them and the vast effects and powers that metas and other magical creatures may possess. Thus, to help even the odds, the bNine guild has set to work on creating a new weapon, designed specifically to use against casters.

Always one to help its members, whether it be in the form of custom weapons or specially designed power armor for sale to the mercenary within its ranks, the bNine has created this small, and compact grenade-like weapon. Since its inception, it has received numerous upgrades, and has remained very popular, despite its extraordinary high price.

Extremely dangerous to magical beings, generally, the more magically powerful, the more devastating the bomb is. It has several settings, but it normally works by coalescing all of the mana in one small area for a few seconds, roughly eight to ten feet in diameter, into a singularity, and then igniting and detonating it with force proportional to the amount of mana collected. Against a opponent like a caster, this would likely result in a liquefying blast of overpressure, accompanied by a heat impulse, not unlike that of thermobaric weapons. Even if the caster somehow survives, the mana vacuum left behind would render him/her next to useless.
Despite its potential, it does have some drawbacks. The mana bomb is best at targeting those of certain, traditional arcana and magical capabilities. Metas who draw their powers from within themselves, as ki, as well as psychic opponents, will not be affected as much. While such users can be victims of the bomb, they generally have the capability to avoid it by suppressing or not using their powers at all, reducing their powers to such an inactive state that the mana bomb does not recognize it as fuel and cannot utilize it at all. Actively using powers of any sort puts the wielder at risk, although it is much, less effective due to magical constraints, such as the dual life-force nature of ki-related energy.

Type OX Compact Magic Generator MKII, aka Spell Bomb:

The reverse of the Mana Converter, or Mana Bomb, the Spell Bomb is an advanced foray into weaponizing arcane energy as a whole using technology. The current form of the Spell Bomb is a small, hand-ball sized sphere that contains a small explosive charge, a secret chemical solution, and ground-up mass-produced mana crystals. Upon activation via a button, the concoction becomes unstable, and hard impact with a surface would cause the sphere to crack, and the components inside to detonate with a blinding flash of light. Current projected power of the Spell Bomb is akin to a fragmentation grenade, but the Spell Bomb also has the property of empowering more traditional magical effects in the target area, while damaging supernatural creatures heavily. Clever operators have been known to use the Spell Bombs to temporarily boost their own magical powers, or to amplify the blast of Mana Bombs. The Spell Bomb has a secondary firing mode, where instead of releasing a localized blast of arcana, it generates a stream of magic energy, at a much lower yield. The Black Nine have adapted this form to use as a sort of "battery" to power special magetech innovations in the field.

Skills

Daemon Hunter: James is a veteran daemon and monster hunter. His sense of instinct is incredibly developed, and it is by this supernatural aspect of his sixth sense that allows him to track and detect the truly cruel and maleficent, as well as sense the “aura“ or spiritual energy of others in general nearby. Barring that, he is very knowledgeable about supernatural creatures as a whole. As for physical capabilities, James possesses superhuman stamina, and is generally considered to be at peak human physical capability in his normal state. These are traits that were acquired by constant training and battle, and James is conditioned to take and withstand blows that could cripple an ordinary human. James is right-handed, but has trained to be ambidextrous.

James is also extremely strong-willed, a requirement for any competent slayer. Experience and training has granted him high amounts of mental resistance and fortitude. There are things that man was simply not meant to know, but James is one of the few who hold the line against such horrors.

James is naturally resistant to extreme heat. From birth though, Eredas family members are not heat-resistant and often scorch themselves, however, as they mature and gain mastery over themselves their bodies become more and more resistant to heat and high temperatures. Currently, James's body can resist up to roughly just under 1000 degrees Celsius with no ill-effects, although his fists and arms can resist up to much, much higher then that. He is extremely strong-willed, and well disciplined, having seen things and been trained to battle things that normal beings would never begin to imagine.

Heritage of the Eredas, Mastery: James’s bloodline affords him the control and creation of special spiritual flames, which in reality is merely his ki, or spiritual energy . The color of his flames changes with intensity, from a tame dark crimson to a burning tinted white. The heat that is emitted from these flames can reach 2300 degrees Celsius with adequate charging time, with a instant heat level of roughly 700 degrees Celsius maximum. For non-lethal tournament purposes he may use only up to 1200 degrees Celsius. Usual points of exit for his flames are his hands, but James can, and has conjured up fire from all over his body. James himself is highly resistant to extreme temperatures, in fact, he thrives in it, and he can thread the power he wields within himself to boost his own physical strength and speed. James is also nearly impossible to blind with light, possessing the supernatural ability to see through intense light sources as if they weren't there.

Any Eredas family member can summon Eredas flame, because this is the main ability of their bloodline. Only Eredas, can effectively control and wield this spiritual fire however. Command and usage, is instant, for lower level techniques, higher level techniques will just drain more energy then usual if not charged up, or prepared for properly.

James's flames are akin to a form of ki, and harbor many properties unlike that of normal flames.

Eredas flames do not burn oxygen from the air. They can have kinetic properties and even physical force at times, and is even resistant to opposing psychic, physical, kinetic, spiritual, and magic means, although all to differing degrees. It is a power relating to the blood and birth, everybody with Eredas blood and birth can summon the flames at will, but only those experienced enough can command and wield them with ease. At the coolest, they can just warm a person up, at the very hottest, melt through reinforced titanium or similar materials, acting like lava or plasma, although not even the user is safe. Anything lit on fire by an Eredas flame will be a normal fire, albeit at the intensity that the originator flame was created at. On average, they are much more powerful and concentrated then regular flames, and James can do many things with them, amongst which is cutting through materials by sheer temperature and concentration, or explode.

Eredas flames can be cast from many points upon the body, most points are the hands, feet, and the mouth, and the body itself. The hands and the feet allow the martial artist the most amount of control over the ki, followed by the body, and then the mouth. Very little control is present at a gateway such as the mouth. Indeed, using the mouth as a casting point is reserved for stronger Eredas warriors, and even then, only for powerful techniques, since flames unleashed from there will typically be like an uncontrolled torrent.

In addition, all of James's flames have a influencing factor, that is anathema and effective against beings of supernatural origin, particularly evil and corrupt ones such as vampires, demons, and undead, but also includes golems, angels, werewolves and the like. It makes his already powerful abilities even more potent.

Combat Abilities:

Martial Artist: Shin Soulchiou Style
James’s martial arts is based around three things. One, his hereditary ability to conjure and wield sacred fire. Two, it is an advancement of his clan’s original martial style, taking in aspects of many fighting arts that James had learned or seen on his travels, and three, it involves James’s superb physical and spiritual conditioning.

However, with the advent of his reformed arm, James’s martial prowess is altered by the disruption of the flow of energy through his body, causing him to differentiate his abilities and techniques into the Paths of Dou and Sei.

While in a Dou mindset, James gains access to his advanced Dou techniques. A Duo mindset is characterized by emotion, especially rage and anger, and typically has more techniques that specialize in raw, and destructive power.

While in a Sei mindset, James gains access to his advanced Sei techniques. A Sei mindset is characterized by clarity, or calm, and typically has more techniques that specialize in reading and out maneuvering the enemy.

James cannot switch from one mindset to another instantly, although he may enter one instantly in the midst of battle. Activating a mode of "Sei" or "Dou" is a requirement to use more advanced ki techniques. James has to spend a short period of time right after using one mindset before he can switch to another, usually allowing for only one mindset per battle.

Martial Artist: Shin Soulchiou Style

The Shin Soulchiou Style is a development of the Eredas family’s original Soulchiou style. James is proficient with swords, spears, knives, and many other sorts of melee weaponry, but he is most masterful in hand-to-hand. On his wide travels and adventures, James has encountered and learned many more types of fighting styles, and has continued to hone any useful skills acquired into his repertoire, making it more unique, different, and more powerful then the Soulchiou family style from which it originated from.

Free Style Techniques- Compromised of basic strikes, grapples, throws, and attacks in general. These moves can be used while under any mindset.

Heat Style: Compromised of basic passive/active abilities.

Energy Meter:
0/20
Every round, James starts out with 3/20 energy, unless otherwise stated. James gains 2 energy per post at a passive rate.
Immediately transitioning from one Reverse Style or Heat Style Technique to another burns an extra energy in addition to the next technique's cost.
Hitting 20 energy sends James into MAX mode. Activating Dou or Sei mode costs 1 energy, and requires no base sustain. Up to three Hellish Shock Fist or Molten Iron Fist strikes or their respective foot techniques can be performed within the cost of one charge. Being critically or heavily damaged, forces James to lose 1 energy, as well as not gain any for that turn. This usually happens when James is knocked down, and unable to get back up immediately, or when he does not or improperly guards against an attack.

This energy meter or variations of is only used for tournaments and very restrictive RPs, hence the lack of numbers next to the techniques.

MAX Mode: At maximum power, James does not gain energy, but loses 1 energy per post on top of whatever costs he pays to use abilities. However, he does not have to pay energy to transition between Techniques, only the costs of the techniques themselves. MAX mode automatically switches off when James hits 10 energy, and he loses the ability to use Sun-Well while in MAX mode. MAX mode grants James roughly 1.5x bonuses across the board to his strength, speed, agility, and stamina, and he is visually distinct, seeming to give off a light, golden glow.

Path of Dou: Basic Ideal: Path of Dou: Basic Ideal: Dou is the opposite of Sei. Where Sei relies on the user to maintain a calm, cool and collected mindset, feeling empathy for and reading one's opponent like a book, Dou is the aspect of rage, allowing emotion, usually anger, or hatred to power one's fighting ability to greater heights. When entering Dou mode, James gains a small passive bonus to his strength, speed, and power, and has his warrior instincts sharpened, and gains access to his Dou techniques and his passive fist technique, Hellish Shock Fist. High level Dou techniques can grant James more increases to these bonuses, at a cost of fatiguing him faster, and amplifying damage taken, or causing himself internal damage. James is capable of staying in "Dou" form forever as long as he minimizes the use of his flames and ki. Due to practice, and Dou being James's true nature, he maintains all logical and mental facilities he would have normally, instead of devolving into a berserker.

(Dou) Hellish Shock Fist: Basic Dou Technique: An important aspect of James's special fire-laced melee strikes is the fact that he produces a highly focused blast of fire from his fists with every strike. Such an effect can injure, blind, and stun his opponent with a shockwave of force in addition to extreme burns. Comparable to the force produced by a small grenade, using this technique, James can increase his overall striking range, and his offensive capabilities. Hellish Shock Fist is accompanied by three sub-techniques. Armor Shock, Banishing Fist, and Tiger Step.

Armor Shock: Comparable to a tank's HESH round. James attempts to use the power behind the blast wave from the Hellish Shock Fist cause spalling within enemy armor, The intent is not to penetrate, but to eviscerate the opponent using his own protection. Most effective against armor plate systems, and the like. In order to use Armor Shock, the Hellish Shock Fist strike must at least be charged. James is unable to use multiple Armor Shock attacks in quick succession, reserving them for powerful, single strikes.

Banishing Fist: While in Dou form, James's flame attacks deal more damage to supernatural creatures.

Tiger Step: Hellish Shock Fist technique applied to James's footwork. This enables James to dash suddenly in any one direction with a mighty burst of speed, as well as cast Hellish Shock Fist strikes from his feet as well as his hands. Dashing cannot be used in the air, and Armor Shock cannot be performed with kicks.


Path of Sei: Basic Ideal: Sei is the opposite of Dou. Where Dou relies on a user's emotions to power their techniques and increase the strength of their abilities, Sei is the aspect of serenity, as it focuses on reading the opponent, empathy, and redirection, using their power against them. When entering Sei mode, James gains a small passive boost to his reflexes, and stamina, and becomes virtually immune to mental assault of any kind., as well as access to his Sei form techniques and the passive fist technique, Molten Iron Fist. Sei is difficult for James to sustain for long amounts of time, because it is the opposite of his true nature, but it is highly effective for defensive fighting, especially against large groups of enemies.

(Sei) Molten Iron Fist: Basic Sei Technique: When in Sei mode, James cannot make use of the Dou principle of expelling overpowering bursts of ki from his hands or feet in his melee chains. Instead, striking surfaces such as the hand and the foot can be intensely focused with his chi, resulting something akin to a "heat" edge. This also renders his hands and feet as tough as steel, although he will still feel pain, all together it allows for enhanced clawing and gouging attacks. Molten Iron Fist is accompanied by three sub-techniques. Armor Pierce, Sealing Fist, and Dragon Step.

Armor Pierce: Comparable to a tank's AP round, James attempts to use the extreme toughness and the heat of his hands when using Molten Iron Fist to pierce flesh and armor alike. Most effective against chain or scale mail armor systems and the like. More powerful piercing attacks require charging. James is unable to use multiple Armor Pierce attacks in quick succession, reserving them for powerful, single strikes.

Sealing Fist: While in Sei form, James is better able to cancel out, opposing supernatural forces with his flame attacks.

Dragon Step: Molten Iron Fist technique applied to James's footwork, renders strikes from his feet capable of smashing through most obstacles, and strangely enough, renders James extremely light-footed, to the point where he can seemingly fly across water or step on air for extremely short distances and lengths of time (IE, 3 meters).


Reverse Style Techniques: Compromised entirely of active techniques. James’s most powerful abilities are present in the Reverse Style branch.

Sun-Well: James powers up, gaining an extra +1 energy. Performing practically no other actions, James gains additional power at a faster rate (+1) if left to charge for a consecutive turn, up to a cap of +3 additional power.

Burning Man: James wreathes himself in flame. While James is on fire, he has no energy gain, and the more intense and longer he keeps the effect on, he will start to drain energy at a steady rate. High Level Burning Man will give James increased (roughly, 1.5x) power and speed as long as the effect lasts. These bonuses do not overlap with MAX mode. Higher level Burning Man will also cause James to suffer light burns to himself.

Dragon Surge: A large spark of ki (or small object) is created, and thrown at an enemy with explosive results. Feels like being slugged by James's fists, in addition to burning and concussive damage. A light ranged attack with medium distance, and reasonable accuracy. Projectile speed is relatively slow, but can be altered accordingly to the aerodynamics of any charged object if there is one.

(Dou) Spiral Dust: Evolution of Dragon Surge: Spiral Dust is an incredibly destructive Dragon Surge. Thrown at the ground, point-blank up a distance of 4 meters at most, concentrated power within the spark explodes, resulting in a pillar of flame that reaches toward the sky and immolates all in its radius. Serpent Breathe: James’s signature ki technique. Energy is focused around one hand, and is projected forth in a massive, sweeping short-ranged wave of flame. James does not require a specific state of mind to use this, so ingrained into his basic arts it is.

Eredas Daemonslayer Techniques:

The power behind each Eredas clan member's flames are not truly understood. The Sunburst technique's greatest advantage however, is that for an additional energy, it can be detonated to provide a blinding blast of light, combined with a loud, but not deafening explosion, acting like a flash-bang grenade.

Champion's Call: A nimbus of fire surrounds James as he bellows out an irresistible challenge or taunt to single combat, forcing all elite level or higher opponents to fight him in single combat, and grants James bonuses to his combat prowess and confidence. These bonuses are increased if the enemy breaks single combat, or if James vanquishes his foe and moves onto another.

Flesh over Steel: Once a day, in any state of mind, James can expend all of his current energy to deliver a powerful blow, capable of meeting, and destroying nearly any mechanical or metal object up to the size of another human being. This technique can only be performed by his right arm, and he must have enough base energy to perform Volcano Sword or else the technique will fail.

Murderous Presence: When you stare into the abyss as long as James has had, a bit of the abyss stares back into you. James is capable of unleashing an aura of despair, blood-thirst, or malice when in Dou form, feelings so powerful that even unpowered beings can detect it.
