I don't think you realize
Just how hard it was to believe
That you, being you,
Loved me.
And worse,
I don't think you could see,
With me being me
It'd been even harder
To risk a heart
That'd already been so broken;
That'd already been through so much.

But yet,
I fell for you.
Even though all I'd wanted to do
Was keep my heart safe,
To play it safe;
And run far far away.

But, for you
I stayed.

And you kept me happy and animated;

But in the end,
Now that I think of it all
I really do wish
I'd played it safe.

Everything fell apart
And I'd been too blinded to see
I should've been more careful
