I know that I love you,
Because it kills me to think of her,
But I do until my mind cries,
And everything is just a blur.

But why wouldn’t I love you,
When my thoughts revolve around your smile,
Where hopes fill me to the brim,
And the heartbreak becomes worthwhile.

And I prove that I love you,
Because the sound of silence scares me,
But I allow it to draw me in,
Because within it, it is you that I see.

But how could I not love you,
When I cry alone at night,
Thinking that the world is wrong,
That without you, life’s not right.

And I swear that I love you,
And that one day you will see,
Just how much my love for you,
Really means to me.

And until then I will love you,
From amongst the shadows, where I wait,
For that time when destiny calls,
When we realise our true fate.
