"I am not owned by anyone...I come from the Forest of the White Kitsune Clan." My back stiffened at the thought of the clan's territory. Black as he was called stared at disbelievingly for a while, "Fine, then I'll take him."
Here we go with Him again. I sighed then glared at Black, "No one owns me. Ever." The woman looked at me, "Now dearie. Ya ain't got no right to be talkin' to yer elders like that..." I turned to head out the door, otherwise I'd go balistic and furious. A long blade came in front of and I jumped back. I followed the blade to see Black was the one blocking my way, "You don't think you have a chance to get into Shadow Ridge by simple getting a tantrum?"
I don't like this guy, he reads minds.
"Fine. Lets make a deal." My eyes widened as his voice changed. He seemed some what enthused by the thought of making a deal. The woman placed her hands on my shoulders, "I see that look you're a gettin' and ya ain't gonna scam the poor boy!" Black looked at her fiercely, "It's obvious the kid doesn't like other speaking for him or believing him defenseless, why doesn't he prove he can survive?"
I finally broke my icy silence, "What? You gonna let me in the fights?"
But somehow my inner consience said that would fit with what this man had in mind.
"We're gonna fight. You and I. Man to man. You win, I'll get you a ticket myself and take you back to Shadow Ridge faster than you can blink...You lose, and you become my pupil...How's that?" He sheathed his sword and folded his arms awaiting in answer out of me. The man I realized had already left in a bustle. The woman looked down at me concerned. She didn't want me to do this, but I had little choice...
I approached Black and stared at him in the eye, "Deal."
