Mayo was standing on a log, it was old and covered in moss as it leaned over a raging river, the water tearing throught rocks and lands. She a sword in her hand and fought on the brink of the log, her eyes in the far off battle against some new foe. Her hair flying in the wind, a splash of water rose up as she did horizontal slash and it reached far into her soul bring out her power. The water then rose high to the sky and then burst into millions of droplets like gems from the sun. She laughed with joy.
"ahem..."
She turned around and saw Black, covered in water and she put her sword behind her back, "Yes?" His face serious and placid as usual, he didn't wear his cloak neither bear his sword which took her a little by surprised. She walked off the leg and faced him and at length he spoke, "Have you wondered where I came from...why I dress so or look how I am?" Mayo smiles as her starts to walk and follows him, "Of course I do...everyday..."
He gives a small wry smile and glances up at the trees, "My family comes from something like the opposite of the kitsunes, they are skilled warriors...we the Monterosa's are magicians..." Mayo blinked, "what do you mean?" She grabbed a tie from her wrist and pulled her hair back securing it from her face. As they continued to walk Mayo grabbed her hunter's hat from a tree and put on, now it had a black feather to decorate it and give it a sort of aristocratic or dashing look.
He pulled something from his hand and it was the silver locked Mayo found so many years ago. The seeker..., "In that tower of the Moon...you had found an item of magic, your kin would simply throw it away but we the Monterosa would treasure it...I've deciphered more of the words to the box" She realized they weren't heading to the hide-out but just taking an absent minded path. He continued to speak, "It would grant you godly powers indeed Taiyo but at a price...because of your kitsune blood you could live on forever if no harm came of you but the mist would make you mortal" This hit Mayo like a shot, she could achiece something but at the heavy ordeal of losing it easily.
