Time to finally do this...

I was going to give this scores and stuff, but really it is hard to give it a numeric value. Instead I'm going to talk about the good and bad really quick so I can move away from this and head right to a Soul Eater review, which is what I'm more interested in.

The Good:
Comedy.
Fighting.
Innuendos.
Character Design.

The Bad
Pacing.
The Ending.
Plot.


Really, if you've watched Rosario + Vampire, you have an idea of what sort of story you are about to walk into, though I have to admit, most of the time Asu no Yoichi is far more tame. The episodes with the exception of the last 4 and the first one, could be watched in any order without really losing anything. All of the characters that you'll see more than once and all of their relationships are developed in the first two or three episodes, and the plot is sort of like an episode of the Simpsons, where in the end everything works out and looks like how it was at the start.

The story follows a Samurai who comes down from the mountains for training and manages to get put up in a dojo with 4 girls (the big breasted girl who beats on him, the small breasted girl who has an incredibly large crush on him, the girl who teases the small breasted girl, and the loli) Probably a little less than a quarter of the series actually deals with the training that the samurai came down to do, the rest of it being silly adventures, and Washizu, who is easily the best character in the series.

All in all, the series was enjoyable, however, (the last episode especially) seems plagued with pacing problems, and things that should have been important don't really feel like they are treated as important as something like silly jokes.

I found myself wishing that there was another series worth of material, but at the same time, hoping that there would not be another series, since we all know what happened when they did that with the series I keep comparing this too (Censor bat can't let you see that, chuu~!)
